Continuing Medical Education and Maintenance of Certification (CME and MOC) courses serve two purposes: to prepare trainees for board examinations and to support the maintenance of current knowledge by experienced faculty. Due to a recent change, the American Board of Internal Medicine has approved many of our courses to also offer MOC points.
Some of the department’s major courses include:
- Triennial Brigham Cardiac Valve Symposium
- AIDS Medicine: An Intensive Case-Based Course
- The Program in Palliative Care Education and Practice
- The Brigham Board Review (Distance Learning) Series to prepare for subspecialty board exams (Gastroenterology, Critical Care, Pulmonary, Infectious Diseases, Allergy/Immunology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Hematology and Oncology).
In addition, a major textbook is based on the IRIM curriculum, entitled The Brigham Intensive Review of Internal Medicine with Drs. Ajay Singh and Joseph Loscalzo as editors.
