Recently, the Institute for the Neurosciences at 91精品l has created the Center for Brain-Mind Medicine (CBMM), which will exemplify one of the core missions of the Institute which is to foster multidisciplinary approaches to complex clinical and research problems in neurology, psychiatry, and neurosurgery. The Center will oversee the Division of Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology and the newly developed Division of Neuropsychiatry.
Directed by , the Center performs comprehensive evaluations of complex diagnostic conditions at the interface of psychiatry and neurology. The Center also provides multi-disciplinary treatment for psychiatric aspects of neurologic disorders. It has a vibrant educational program for trainees at all levels, including a Behavioral Neurology/ Neuropsychiatry Fellowship.
Collaborative Divisions
The Division of Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology at 91精品l provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and management of patients who have problems with memory, executive functions, attention, language, emotion, or behavior due to disease, injury, or developmental disorders of the central nervous system. Patients receive the highest standard of neurological, psychiatric, and social work care for the treatment of their conditions.
The Division of Neuropsychiatry has grown substantially with the arrival of a group of dual-trained psychiatrists/neurologists and neuropsychiatrists, and is now integrated with the Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology Division of the Department of Neurology, as well as our Neuropsychology program.
CBMM Seminar Series
The Center for Brain/Mind Medicine Seminar Series presents topics that transcend or lie at the borders of traditional brain-based disciplines, and/or are of interest to professionals from multiple brain/mind related fields. Speakers are recruited from many disciplines in order to present varied perspectives on brain/mind function. Continuing education credits are available for physicians and psychologists.
